How-To Tuesday: 1-Year Photo Frame
The month of January is a long one, and it seems like it’s been forever since we last DIYed together. I’m so excited to share this month’s How-To Tuesday project with y’all because it’s super cute, and super easy! If you hadn’t heard, C is turning 1 this weekend. I’ve been taking photos each month since she was born in anticipation of this day, and finally get to put my carefully crafted work to good use!
I got the idea for this frame from a DIY care of Shelterness I found on Pinterest. I tweaked the concept a little by choosing a smaller and more ornate frame, and trimming my photos into a square shape. I had been looking for the perfect way to display C’s monthly pics at her birthday party, and knew this was it as soon as I spotted the great tutorial! You can also use this frame as a fun way to display any set of photos — how cool would it look with Polaroids?
The concept is simple: glue some string or twine to a backless frame and attach photos to it using clothespins. Did I mention how easy this project is? It’s also easy on your pocketbook — I found a funky, 18″ x 24″ frame on clearance at Michael’s, and was able to repurpose the string from the advent calendar I made back in December. I opted for mini clothespins because of the size of the frame and photos, but with a larger version of this project regular size ones would work too!

That is a precious idea. I am looking for cute “showcases” as we speak and you always have the best ideas!
Great idea – I love the dog sleeping in the photo while you work

Your daughter will love having her monthly pics when she is older…I have hundreds of pics with no time frame

You also have twins! Cut yourself some slack… at least you take pics! And the digital camera gives you a clue when they were
I second that! You do a great job of documenting the boys’ adventures, mama!
Thanks, Cody. My kids are too old for this brilliant idea, but I will keep it mind for my grandkids one day!
Thanks ladies! Glad you like this month’s DIY
So cute! I have a one-year photo frame of my son, too, but mine came from the bookstore haha!
I think this one is waaay better than those premade ones like mine.
